One Quick Side Note

May 24th, 2007 | by Scott |

For all of my criticism of (justified) criticism of Lost I feel like I have to eat my words.

Although I still feel that season two was largely a waste and I was close to giving up on it during the fall portion that was completely underwhelming, I now have this to say:

Last night’s season finale was one of the best episodes of television I have ever seen.

Did that really happen? What’s next?

    excellent.

I’m curious about many things, but Locke’s comment to Jack that “you’re not supposed to do this” I’m very interested in.

I hope that this is not merely a flash-forward a la Heroes but that they really did get rescued. Then the idea of being “lost” fulfills its much deeper meaning that has run concurrently with the island theme for three seasons.

I just read that they’re going to start airing the remaining Studio 60 episodes starting tonight. I thought that was gone for good.

Pure burn-off. I read about them dismantling the set a couple of weeks back.

I will not be tuning in. It’s best to leave that textbook case of ego-stroking in the grave.

I just finished watching the Lost season finale. Wow! That was some intense television! I think this season has redeemed itself! So many possibilities - I love it!

I also wrapped up the Heroes season this weekend - another great episode - wish they’d gone the 2-hour route, too!

In both cases, a couple of great seasons to look forward to. I wish I could say the same about 24. I have just lost interest after this season.

Jeff, no kidding. There were several moments in the fall I thought about giving up on it. But now, I can’t wait until February. And it seems that Heroes needed that extra hour to play out some stories in a more thorough fashion.

I’m holding out hope for 24. If they blow up the premise and move in a different direction, locale, etc. It might regain it’s footing. Ultimately, I think the lackluster season was due to the fact that they were bored with it. At least Keifer looked that way through large chunks of screen time.
