Today at Church…

August 5th, 2007 | by Scott |

…I was given the power to cast out demons.

Now, that’s going on my resume.

And it should be a pretty neat party trick as well.

So, I get to church yesterday morning and there is this Korean woman there. She has been there for a few minutes and is adamant that she will only speak to the pastor.
To make a long story short, primarily because I couldn’t understand her very well, she indicated that the way to grow the church was to cast out demons and gave me the appropriate literature to learn to do it. She even gave me a crash course i the casting out of demons.

Well you can add that to your resume:

“Have taken a class in church growth.”

“Have knowledge in the casting out of demons.”

I guess that *WOULD* look spritual on a resume.

Lemme know how that goes over in a conservative COG church ;)

which direction will the mob be running you in???
    ;* (did I say that?)

I should think that anytime you start casting out demons at a party, you’re inevitably going to bring the whole mood down. They DO bring all the fun stuff….

    Maria, it’s COC.

Dan, one of my concerns is where to cast the demons. Jesus had a bunch of pigs. But at a party the last thing you want to do is cast out a bunch of demons and have them hole up in some wealthy socialite.

    Scott;

RE: Lindsay, Paris, Britney - what, I ask, would be the difference, exactly?

Hmmmmm– where to cast the demons… that is a fantastic question, and reveals how you plan ahead (another point to add to the ol’ resume).

What is the criteria for the “caster upon-er”?Would a plant work? If you’re gonna be picky, then maybe you should start discreetly carrying around some kind of “just in case I have demons to cast out, I have you around to cast them into” sort of object/decoy/living thing? Perhaps a Chihuahua in a cute little tote? Maybe name him Legion?

One of the elements that make the pig story in the NT so compelling is that the pigs had no idea it is coming. Picking out a dupe is the way to go.
