OK, So if it’s true…

…and Houston is on his way out (and it has to be, right? How does he survive? He has about as much of a chance coming back as Ron Paul does winning the election) then it’s time to start thinking about his replacement.

And let me start by saying let’s put the kibosh right now on considering any retreads. Butch Davis, I’m talking to you. I don’t care if he played for the U of A. That hasn’t always worked out for us in the past. And he’s 57 years old.

Let’s get an up and comer or someone who is currently exhibiting some level of success.

Or has a track record and winning bowl games.

Can I suggest Chris Peterson? Sure we have already hired a Boise State coach in our past. But this guy is no Houston Nutt.

Jim Grobe?

Just think what we could have done with our backfield this year if we had had a Rich Rodriguez.

Jeff Tedford where are you?

I also hear Tulsa has a pretty good offensive coordinator. :D

Well, I think his career will come to a screeching halt when he gets Croomed today.

And the Ron Paul comment… I just don’t understand why everyone’s gotta hate. He’s at least doing as well as Edwards is… just on the Republican side.

    No crooming here today…

I don’t know who they’ll get, but they clearly don’t need to go after a big name and throw a lot of money at him. That apparently doesn’t work.

Scott, don’t start celebrating yet. Iy might not happen.I was at the game today and the Hogs looked a lot better. Granted, their season has been unpredictable but as I understand it nothing will take place until after an evaluation with the new AD when the season is over. Anyway Houston was very vocal with the news media after the game. I have been vocal also about getting a new coach but i’m not into all the rumors being put out here.

Dude, leave our coaching staff alone! Tulsa is finally doing well. We like it.

    They looked better?

    DMac had under 100 yards

Miss State’s True Freshman Quarterback threw for over 400 yards… if he hadn’t thrown 4 interceptions as well Arkansas would have had another loss.

No way Peterson leaves Boise. He is happy here and set to make over a million this year. Why would a coach leave a better situation for a worse situation?

Maybe he wants to play regularly on ESPN on a Saturday, when people are actually watching…

I think they played 6 times on ESPN or ESPN 2 this year, how many programs can say that? Some of the days were strange but national exposure none the less.

Can you imagine trading a job where you are in the top 15 consistently and making good money in a great part of the country and fans are ecstatic with the results going to somewhere where you have a pressure cooker situation where it is national championship or failure, your quality of life is less for a bit more money?

Justin, obviously Arkansas looked better than they did a week previously against Tennessee. And they obviously looked better than Miss. State considering they beat them.

Chad, it happens all the time. It would be seen as a step up for him. Not that it’s ever going to happen or that he would even consider it. But there is one trait that a lot of coaches hold in common that would at least make it seem attractive: Ego.

Coach Pete is different, I’m telling you. Not that we haven’t heard it before but he is a different kind of coach. Time will tell.

Chad, that was just a joke on my part, considering they’re general time slots on ESPN. Personally, I’m always glad they’re showing football on other days of the week as well. (And I loved the Fiesta Bowl last year, by the way.)

I would agree with Scott in that most would consider a move to the SEC a step up. But if he’s not like most people, then that’s certainly good for you guys, because he seems to be doing a great job out there.

that should have been “their” time slots. (in my defense, I initially worded that sentence differently and “they’re” was appropriate.)
