Advent

November 26th, 2007 | by Scott |

This Sunday marks the beginning of the Advent season.

At the Agape Church we will be embarking at a four week sermon series entitled “He Will Come and Save You.” These will be reflections from the prophet Isaiah.
This Sunday AM class we will look at the history of Advent and why we should celebrate it. There is power, mystery and wonder in the blessed gift of Incarnation.
May our hearts be filled with the Splendor of Heaven this season.

Advent Prayer
Henri J.M. Nouwen

Lord Jesus,
Master of both the light and the darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas.
We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day.
We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us.
We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom.
We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence.
We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light.
To you we say, “Come Lord Jesus!”
Amen.
