Odd and Ends

December 3rd, 2007 | by Scott |

* This Just In: The University of Arkansas has made an agreement with Houston Nutt and Ole Miss to loan up to 5 players per game next season. In the desire of the U of A to help Houston out as much as possible we will also ensure that they are dressed and ready to play for each game. In a related note, Casey Dick has been named all-time quarterback in next seasons Razorbacks-Rebels tilt.

* I finally broke down and joined Bookmooch. I was going to do it 6+ months ago but didn’t want to be messing with it while moving. But, now I’m in and have already sent out 11 books, three of them out of the county. I’ve requested five and hopefully I will start seeing them soon. I was even able to score the new McLaren book. My hope is to bolster my preacher library by getting rid of my more “mainstream fare.” You can check out my inventory in the right sidebar.

* For the first time in at least two months I have no Scrabble games on Facebook.

* My fantasy team has tanked. I was 5-2 and sitting in first place when we moved. I have since dropped 5 of the last 6. It’s my own fault. I managed my team poorly.

* I’m becoming more and more convinced that we will be looking at an Obama-Huckabee showdown. That would most definitely be interesting. I am not a Huckabee fan at all and will actively campaign against him. And I will also be interested to see how the Southern Baptist pastor wages a national campaign. Will he propagate the Muslim and unpatriotic lies against Obama? What will Obama attack. No matter what it’s going to be an UGLY campaign and, sadly, Christians will be at the center of the mud-slinging.

* Anybody have a spare ticket to the Cotton Bowl?

I love bookmooch. I’ve given away 29 and received 25 thus far.

    Should make this race interesting.

Did you see what Cope wrote about Huckabee?

I’ll decide on bookmooch when I actually start receiving.

Robin, I think it will be the most interesting race of my lifetime, at least.

You got a book in the mail today. “buried heart at wounded knee” or something like that.

Speaking of books have you checked out “God’s Harvard”? It’s an interesting look at a college started by a leader in the home schooling movement that looks to influence politics.

I was wondering why you didn’t at least put Vince Young in your fantasy team on Already and Not Yet’s league.

Obama-Huckabee…has a nice ring to it. Being from Arkansas, i’d like to see a good post about your thoughts on Huckabee. I know you’re not pro republican at all, but is he the real deal or not?

Creating a big Bookmooch wishlist is the right approach. The probability of getting any one specific, rather obscure, book is fairly low but I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised how many hits you eventually get from a big wishlist.

John, I have not read it but thanks to my handy-dandy Moochbar it’s on my wishlist.

Lane, I’ve just been so busy I didn’t even realize Bulger was out. I’ve really blown it this year.

Without going into details I believe that Huckabee is a political opportunist who will do whatever it takes including walking all over people to get whatever he wants. He has caused tremendous personal harm to my family and he did it all in the name of politics. If he gets the nomination I will be more forthcoming but my hope is he just goes away.

Jonathan, I’m slowly working on building my wishlist. The Moochbar does help.

Matt, don’t know why your comment got held up. Yeah, I saw it. I almost responded and I know my reluctance to give details has to be frustrating especially since he is the buzz candidate among the GOP right now.

Scott, Can’t you insert “Billary” into that statement? Not to get in the political war, but what has she done? She was not a good lawyer, (average at best) no real H.C. legistalation has been passed from her time in the Senate, and for sure not a good spouse. What is she good at? I am not saying I like Huck, but lets compare apples to apples.
Have you checked out Obama’s church online? A bit odd.
Anyway now that i have your attention, I heard McFadden is transferring to Ole Miss. Do you still want Houston out? I think what he did is GREAT.

Thanks buddy How ‘Bout them Cowboys?!

Hillary has been pilloried (how is that for a rhyme) enough without my piling on. But yeah, she is an opportunist. However, I don’t have the personal dog in that hunt.

you think you’re nervous about Huckabee?
How do you think Canadians feel?

    Just watch.

He is the buzz candidate amongst the theocrat wing of the Republican Party.

He raised taxes and spent more in Arkansas than Bill Clinton.

I know there are several people here that want to vote for him… you should go to this site before you do.

I would vote for Obama over Huck so at least when our country goes bankrupt, people won’t associate it with the party that once cared about small government

If that happens, it will be a no win vote for the American people. It would even be worst than it is now.

Scott - facebook - why? I don’t post anything there and there are no pics - only on my son’s site. You are pretty smart - I won’t worry about your itelligence. You found me.

I did my regular friend search and you turned up. And I figured any Aunt of Jonathan’s…

Oh, and I’m really trying to get to 200 friends.
