Scott Freeman Democratic Primary
December 14th, 2007 | by Scott |It looks like Mike Huckabee has taken the GOP slot in the Republican side of my primary.
Now it’s time to see who will be his competitor in the General election. Anyone can vote and, if you will, share why you pick this particular candidate.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All 8 candidates can’t fit on the main page so you need to click the more button to see them all.
Please be positive.

I’d love to know why you Hillary voters are leaning her direction. Let’s get some (positive) discussion going.

I would rather know why anyone would vote Obama!!

I voted for Obama because he’s a muslim.

I with Greg because I really hate America…

So much for a positive discussion.

I can’t decide who to vote for:
Hillary because of her classic femininity.
Kucinich because of his classic masculinity.
Gravel because he’s just so sane.
Obama because he, like me, is repulsed by overrated celebrities with inflated egos.
Edwards because he’s so cute.
Oh, wait …

Sigh. This is why I’m considering giving up blogging.

I voted for Oprah, er, Obama. Same Difference.

For the record, the above comment about Oprah and Obama is from Tracy and not from me.

The Democrats For Life have not endorsed any of the candidates. They do show their positions on abortion, Darfur, death penalty, embryonic stem cell research, etc, for any who are interested. http://www.democratsforlife.org
I didn’t vote.

I’m still a John Edwards fan. My husband and I have decided to vote in the republican primary and then vote democrat in the November election. I’m said it before, I’ll vote for Donald Duck before voting for any republican.

I voted for Obama based on his potential to be transformational…to transform the current US vs. THEM paradigm of domestic politics (see the examples here) to how can WE make things better…and transformational in terms of how the U.S. engages with and is engaged/viewed by the rest of the world.
And yes, I drank the kool-aid.

The MPR poll said I should vote for Dodd, but that ain’t gonna happen.
By Scott on Dec 14, 2007 | Reply
Everything says I should vote for Kucinich
I’m leaning more Obama over Edwards but that is primarily because I think he’s the most electable.

I did not vote for any. Hillary panders to every audience and cannot distinguish truth from fiction. When I heard Obama speak at the DNC, I thought, gee this guy talks like a republican. I like him. However, his lack of experience and the church he aligns himself with knocks him out. Edwards’ recent comment that everyone would have to be on his government controlled health insurance scares the hell out of me. The others don’t have much of a chance.

I voted for Richardson because he has no chance. I would have voted Ron Paul on the Republican side for the same reason. The fact is, I have so very few reasons to vote for any of them, I am unlikely to vote at all. After all, my residency in Texas will render my vote or non-vote the same as our 30 or so electoral votes will go to Huckabee or Romney or the latest wannabe incarnation of Ronaldus Redivivus.

I agree completely with Robin. Hillary’s pandering is irritating. Obama is articulate and he is my cousin, however, like Robin, his lack of experience is not what we need right now. John Edwards has experience, but I can’t get behind his socialized health care.
The point to me is, “where is the middle?” It seems like every Democratic candidate in the front is so far left, it is hard to support any of them. I would be in favor of a change in the White House, just because I think that change can be healthy, however, when the Dems put up the candidates that are so far to the left, some of whom borderline of Socialism, it is hard to get behind them.

re: Voting for Ron Paul because he has no chance
Did you happen to notice that his supporters independently raised over 6 million dollars for him… on Sunday?
His going to have the best fundraising numbers of all republican candidates. he’s within margin of error for second place in south carolina. The desmoines register is predicting that he’ll come in third in iowa. And if there’s bad weather there or new hampshire, he could do better than that.
That being said, I voted for Richardson, because he’s the only democrat that doesn’t have a tax the rich mantra… because he’s cut taxes in his own state, and he knows it actually brings in MORE revenue to the government

Voted for Obama. I figure inexperience=mostly untainted by soul-crushing political compromise and I find that hopeful…as much as I can find anything hopeful in politics.
And I like the UCC.

I second JTB re: the UCC.

Three cheers for the UCC.

We could go with a straight UCC ticket. Maybe Chuck Currie for VP? I like his blog.
I just found out Dean Koontz was raised UCC. Not sure about political ambitions though.

What you won’t let me vote for Chris Dodd?
By Scott on Dec 17, 2007 | Reply
yeah, he’s on there. You just have to click “more” at the bottom of the screen. There are too many candidates to fit on one page.
