TV on DVD

January 5th, 2008 | by Scott |

We recently caught up with Friday Night Lights on DVD. If you aren’t watching this on NBC, by all means pick up season one, now. It may very well be the best show on TV.

So now I have a question for all my TV friends: what should we watch next? I’ve wanted to catch “The Wire” for a while but it’s a long wait.
I’ve just added “Freaks and Geeks” to my Blockbuster Queue.

Any other suggestions/recommendations?

I was giddy with excitement last night because of the new FNL episode. Along with The Office (which is losing momentum with the writer’s strike), it is my favorite show.

No recommendations, but I am looking forward to watching Once tonight, based on your recommendation. The music is amazing. Can’t wait to see how it ties in together as a story.

Love FNL! I love that the centering character of the series is the wife of the coach! I could go on…

The Wire is absolutely phenomenal. I’m on season three and can’t get enough, quick enough. Great writing. Great characters. Great setting. All around great!

For guilty, fun pleasure check out Entourage. I watch those on DVD and it’s a lot of fun. Nothing deep there, just fun. And Jeremy Piven’s character, Ari, is out of this world. He says what we all wish we could say but are too embarrassed/scared to say.

Finally, were you a fan of Arrested Development? It’s genius. It’s a shame it only lasted two and a half years. Much like FNL, it was critically acclaimed but hardly watched. Shame.

Joe, I hear you. I could talk all day about the greatness of FNL. I loved the Riggins story line this past Friday. I’m anxious to see how it plays out.

I’ve thought about Entourage. I’ll have to check it out.

I loved Arrested Development. As a matter of fact I found the complete series on sale for 30 bucks on Amazon at Christmas. I scooped it up.

Jonathan, Conchords is a great idea. I’m going to add that too.
