Most human beings, of course, are not able to stand the message of the shaking of the foundations. They reject and attack the prophetic minds, not because they disagree with them, but because they sense the truth of their words and cannot receive it.

    I’m sure I’ve shared this elsewhere, but that book (a collection of sermons entitled The Shaking of the Foundations) saved my faith when I was in high school, and it continues to be a wonderful resource for me today. I love Paul Tillich.

    Not many high school students read Tillich. That’s pretty impressive.
    The quote resonates with me as I prepare the Wednesday night series I’m doing. A major point I will be raising will be that of moving beyond foundationalism.
