Six Degrees of Matt Nathanson

I snatched up two pretty hot albums today on iTunes.

Kate Voegel is a 20 year old singer-songwriter who has some serious chops. She is being billed as a “commercial Patty Griffin” and has been heralded for her songwriting ability. Her sound has that pop slickness but there is a depth there that transcends the genre. The CD was produced by Marshall Altmann who also produced Nathanson’s latest Some Mad Hope.

Next up was the latest from Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. USA Today named Glassjaw Boxer one of the five best albums of 2007. Take Counting Crows and The Wallflowers and you have Kellogg.
