Monday Melange

February 4th, 2008 | by Scott |

That sadness in the air is the end of football. I was a little bored with the game itself until the final quarter. Worst commercials in my memory. Part of my boredom was watching it alone. I’m used to having a soiree to watch the game. Next year.

Thankfully my Hogs are playing well so there is hope for a little March Madness in my corner of the world.

In the meantime, who is up for an All American Football League Fantasy League? I’m confident in Team Arkansas’ chances.

This past Saturday we took the girls to Tulsa to eat at Chuck E. Cheese on steroids. I’m in no hurry to repeat that experience.

A good friend of mine in a southern state called me on Friday after participating in early voting to tell me he had pulled the lever for Hillary. The reason? Experience and familiarity. I can’t argue that. I believe that is the reason that someone VERY close to me is leaning in her direction.

It was fun seeing all the campaigners standing on street corners in Tulsa touting their candidates. We saw supporters of Hillary, Barack and Mike. John and Mitt were conspicuously absent.

Tomorrow 22 states go to the polls. I will be voting for the first time in the great state of Oklahoma. Who else is going tomorrow?

We have a new, barely used digital bathroom scale free to a good home. It says I weight 20 pounds more than our much loved, broken in analog scale.

8 days to the return of Jericho.

And if you are looking for a good book to read I recommend Jeffrey Toobin’s The Nine. It’s a great behind the scenes look of the Rehnquist and Roberts’ courts.

I disagree! There is no way Doug will vote for Hillary! ;-)

Oh, and coincidentally I took the boys to Chuck E Cheese Friday night as a reward for good behavior (or maybe it was a punishment for my bad behavior).

Dad? You voting for Hillary tomorrow? Ann Coulter has endorsed her, you know.

Jonathan, Chuck E Cheese is bush league compared to the Incredible Pizza Place. Seriously, that joint was like a meth lab for kids.

I thought Arkansas would beat Florida at home, but I was surprised they crushed them the way they did. I think (or at least hope) that Pelphrey may have finally gotten through to these guys. I’d about given up on them and was starting to look forward to him getting his own players in the years to come. But after the last few games, maybe there’s some hope for these guys yet.

Looking forward to returning to Jericho. I thought Lost got off to a good start Thursday.

I plan to be going tomorrow over here.

Scott, I haven’t ruled Hillary out. Anyone rather than Obama.

Agreed on how depressing it is that football is over. I’m ready for the Petrino era to begin.

Alabama votes today! Since there’s no John Edwards, I’ll be connecting the lines on Obama.
