What I’m Digging
February 29th, 2008 | by Scott |So, after the glut of heady, Oscar-worthy fare I decided to rent some brain dead flicks. I was in the market for a good comedy. So, I checked out Good Luck, Chuck and I can say, without reservation, that Dane Cook is the least funny comedian in the history of stand-up arts. I made it about 15 minutes into that horrendous piece of drivel.
Ok, with that out of the way I can gush about how great Idina Menzel is. She was Maureen in Rent and also starred in Enchanted alongside Amy Adams. This isn’t typically my style of music but I absolutely adore her. Her album is pure power pipes. Here is the lead single:
I love the Mountain Goats. This is the first video from Heretic Pride:
And you can’t go wrong with the new Tift Merritt:

This is totally off-post but awhile back I mentioned the Russian churches - I’ve located something on YouTube that might be interesting to many:

I saw Tift Merritt on one of the late night shows earlier this week (letterman or leno, can’t recall which). I was thinking then I might check it out.
TMG’s are growing on me more and more. I’m probably going to download it, it’s just a matter of this month or next.

Belinda, I am intrested in what is happening in Russia. Since I have been there 7 times since 1993, it is a very unique experience. I helped to start a congregation in 1995 in a city that was one of the last cities that were opened to westerners. I have a lot of friends there among the Russian people.

I hated TMG the first time I heard them. They are an acquired taste but I can’t get enough of them now.
Merritt is on emusic as well. They didn’t add her until after I exhausted my dl’s. Now I have to wait until Monday.
