I Have Nothing to Say

Which is probably a good thing. I need to listen a lot more.

I’m going to work on that skill.

So, talk to me. What do I need to listen to? Or what do you want to talk about?

I can’t believe you haven’t said anything about all the latest goings on in the democratic party. Surely you have an opinion.

Since it’s snowing, yet again, here in Michigan, how about summer vacation. Where is your favorite vacation spot?

    Jamaica and Disney World.

Scott, how about expressing you views on all the changes that your candidate Obama plans on making since his talk is about making a lot of changes. This would take several days of posting.

    Len,
I haven’t said anything about it because it honestly makes me sick. It seems that they are intent of beating themselves.

    Robin, I like Boston.

    Dad, I’ll get on that.

The NYTimes had an op-ed yesterday with the title “Hillary or Nobody?” which basically stated that the Clintons would sink the party’s chances in the effort to get Hillary elected. Honestly, did anyone think the Republicans would be sitting as pretty as they are right now? Of course a lot will happen between now and November.

By the way - how is the South Beach diet going? I didn’t see an update.

I lost about 25 pounds to within 5 pounds of my goal weight. But when the flu hit I went off and need to get back on.

Good job! I’ve lost about 20 doing weight watchers. I also lower my cholesterol 63 points. I would like to lose 10 to 15 more. Glad south beach worked for you.

Something you need to listen to/watch: go to http://www.ted.com and watch some of the talks there. I like anything by Hans Rosling (especially his most recent–I envision the world differently because of his talks), I like the Raspyni brothers (they’re funny), and Jonathan Harris’ “The Web’s Secret Stories” (which tragically gets interrupted at the end).

Anytime I have a half-hour or so to kill I’ll drop by Ted.com to see what I’ve never seen.

More about TED.com–I didn’t watch this one until this evening, you definitely should see it! http://www.ted.com/talks/view/id/233

One great thing about TED is that I’m becoming a better presenter by watching good, bad and so-so presentations. Also, I like http://www.presentationzen.com for that reason.

You should also read, if you haven’t, Gang Leader For A Day by Sudhir Venkatesh. It’s good so far (pg. 69)

Yeah, I love TED. I’ll check out the book as well.
