Thanks for posting the hard times video. I’ve been trying to find one since Tulsa.

I’ve got that Symynkywicz book, but haven’t finished reading it yet. It’s pretty good so far. I heard the author on NPR and was impressed. He’s a unitarian preacher or something like that.

I have not read that. I’ll have to check it out.

I did know it was written by Foster. I’m going to look for the Staples version now.
I have two versions of it. One by Nanci Griffith and one by Matthew Perryman Jones.

Have you read “The Gospel According to Bruce Springsteen” by Jeffrey Symynkywicz? Good read. Published last year.

I love “Hard Times.” You know it’s written by Stephen Foster, right? I first heard it when Emmylou did it on “Live at the Ryman” in 1990. Mavis Staples also has a wonderful version.
